Just A Little Color

Good Morning everyone.  It's Wednesday and I am blogging today.  Michigan has some beautiful weather today and I have so many projects to do and not enough time for all of them but I feel energetic.  My husband found this adorable old rocker by the roadside.  I'm not kidding, someone was going to throw this chair away.  There was even a seat that had to be recovered.  This is the before picture:

I wanted to keep the rustic feeling that I was seeing but I wanted some color.  So I got out some aqua  paint because I had this awesome 50's material that someone at one time had used for curtains.  I used an aqua primer paint and just rubbed the paint on and left some of the bare wood showing thru.  I than used Miss Mustard Seed wax on the top to finish off the finish.  I than recovered the seat with this wonderful aqua and yellow print.

I hope you can see the wood showing thru on the arm of this sweet little rocker.

And here is my little rocker, all finished.  Couldn't you see yourself rocking someone to sleep on this little old rocker?

Better or worse?  Until next time, Dianne......................
